When it comes to food and restaurants, Julia and I are very fussy. So it took us a while to find the right place but the wait was worth it.

I was wearing my favourite new maxi dress and we enjoyed walking around Palma on a warm summer night.

And look at my stunning blonde date for that night.

We ended up at Ombu. Ombu offers delicious japanese inspired tapas with a modern twist at Plaze de la Reina. OMBU is a global concept that joins a way of understanding life through Tapas. And believe me, I am still not fluent in tapas even after trying half of the menu. You just can’t get enough…

But let’s go back to our first night at Ombu a few nights before.

We had Andalusian style squid with lime mayonnaise, Octopus carpaccio with Thai foam and yellow tomato and mango gazpacho.
It was so delicious and unique that we decided to come back again and that we need to try the other half of the menu.

And we found ourselves sitting on the same table a few nights later.

Crispy toasted bread with tomato, Mini Spanish omelette with chorizo, Tuna belly salad, Mini burgers and crispy prawns.
Every dish was packed full of flavour. Service was quick but not rushed.

Ditch the diet!! The mini burger was my favourite.

Ombu has a terrace as well (we thought the balcony might be a bit too romantic for both uf us), two dining rooms in different environments and a private room for 10 people. Share, discover, enjoy and smile… across Tapas, creative cocktails and wine.

It was the historic night when Germany won 7!!!:1 against Brazil in Rio. Of course, I had to dance on the streets of Palma a little bit.

We walked back home and again I went to bed with a big smile on my face.
